CSP-104: Constraint Propagation for Loose Constraint Graphs

چکیده
In this paper we investigate whether we can improve propagationbased finite domain constraint solving by making use of the constraint graph to choose propagators to execute in a better order. If the constraint graph is not too densely connected we can build an underlying tree of bi-connected components, and use this to order the choice of propagator. As search progresses forward, the constraint graph becomes less and less strongly connected, so if we can determine the bi-connected components of the dynamically shrinking constraint graph we have more scope of making use of the technique. Our experiments show that there exist problems where handling biconnected components can substantially improve the propagation performance.

متن کامل3D Object Recognition by VC-Graphs and Interactive Constraint Satisfaction
We propose a novel approach for recognizing 3D CADmade objects in complex range images containing several overlapped and different objects. Objects are modeled by a graph whose nodes are surfaces and arcs are surface relations. We propose an object-centered graph model, called Visual Constraint graph (VC-graph), with special visual constraints modeling occlusions between object surfaces. The VC...
متن کاملConstraint Propagation in Graph Coloring
In this paper we propose a method for integrating constraint propagation algorithms into an optimization procedure for vertex coloring with the goal of finding improved lower bounds. The key point we address is how to get instances of Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSPs) from a graph coloring problem in order to give rise to new lower bounds outperforming the maximum clique bound. More preci...
متن کاملEvolving CSP Algorithm in Predicting the Path Loss of Indoor Propagation Models
Constraint programming is the study of system which is based on constraints. The solution of a constraint satisfaction problem is a set of variable value assignments, which satisfies all members of the set of constraints in the CSP. In this paper the application of constraint satisfaction programming is used in predicting the path loss of various indoor propagation models using chronological ba...
متن کاملPerturbed Message Passing for CSP Perturbed Message Passing for Constraint Satisfaction Problems
We introduce an efficient message passing scheme for solving Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSPs), which uses stochastic perturbation of Belief Propagation (BP) and Survey Propagation (SP) messages to bypass decimation and directly produce a single satisfying assignment. Our first CSP solver, called Perturbed Belief Propagation, smoothly interpolates two well-known inference procedures; it s...
